Asta’s is a little bit of Switzerland located on a lovely stream in Jamaica, Vermont. Chef Michel showcases a wonderful variety of Swiss dishes from wiener schnitzel to sauerbraten to fondue. His wife, Bonnie is a gracious hostess and kindles a warm welcome and service in this intimate and cozy setting. As long time guests, we have enjoyed many wonderful meals at Asta’s. If you are looking for Swiss cuisine in a charming spot, Asta’s European Cuisine is for you.

Why do we drive 50 miles round trip for a dinner at Astas? We do it for Michel’s creative and delicious food and Bonnie’s hospitality, all presented in such good taste that one can hardly wait for the chance to go back again!

With my warmest regards

“We’ve been dining at Asta’s for many years and we keep coming back not only for the food (Michel makes the best crab cakes I’ve ever had) but for the setting. Imagine a Swiss Farm complete with sheep and peacocks by a swiftly running brook. When you eat lunch at their outdoor Grille, you can hear the brook and smell the beautiful flowers Bonnie lovingly tends. Dining at Astas you get delicious traditional and not so traditional Swiss food, impeccably served with personal attention to every detail by Bonnie and Michel.”

Rural southern VT has a surprising number of fine restaurants. Tucked back on country roads and in lovely valleys, they offer menus and tastes that match the best Europe has to offer. But by far, the most interesting and consistently top quality food and service are found at Astas, a Swiss restaurant in Jamaica… that’s VT not the Caribbean! Bonnie and Michel are such good and friendly hosts that it seems like going home except every detail of fine dining is always there and the food is the best. We have been fans of Asta’s since its opening in 19?? and just celebrated our 57th wedding anniversary there with friends from down country. They remarked that Asta’s is by itself a good reason to visit this lovely area. Diners enjoy an outstanding experience of great tastes, service and beverages provided by interested and interesting hosts. We are fortunate to have them as neighbors.

What a beautiful B&B! Our room was so spacious, welcoming and immaculate! We appreciated the bucolic setting ~ rushing brook, beautiful gardens and the sheep grazing on the meadow. Breakfasts were fabulous. The espresso martinis for dessert were the perfect ending to the perfect meal. We felt so pampered and welcomed.

We celebrated our anniversary in Vermont at Asta’s Swiss Inn this Year. It reminded us of our European honeymoon 32 years ago. Our accommodations were so comfortable and luxurious. Our host’s warm and gracious hospitality were ever present. We enjoyed memorable breakfasts and a lunch in the garden and dinners overlooking the garden and brook. We highly recommend the picnic basket prepared on request and map to local hikes. If you are fortunate, Zach the family Beninese Mnt dog will accompany you.

Asta’s exceeded our expectations! We checked in for one night and a meal… Four days later when we checked out we had enjoyed great food, impeccably clean and comfortable rooms, travels in this wonderful countryside and memories of New England that we will always cherish.

We enjoyed our hosts, the views from our room, the attention to details, the décor, great mattress, outstanding cocktails in front of the roaring fire, Hot tub/spa and wonderful food with a Swiss touch.

My husband made me a very happy person by surprising me with an overnight out in the middle of the week. Somehow he found this perfectly charming Bed and Breakfast in Vermont and made all the plans by himself. After a short car ride we arrived in a quaint village to Asta’s Swiss Inn, where we had a magical time reconnecting and relaxing. The Afternoon soak in the Hot tub followed by a brief nap rejuvenated us. The Innkeepers had packed up food for us to take on a sunset picnic atop of one of the nearby mountains. Delicious food, relaxed pace and beautiful views
